Rhianne started running as part of an injury rehabilitation programme from a career ending fall. What she found, was that rather than being the person trying to find a new excuse to get out of school cross country, she craved the headspace that running providing in a moment of great change in her life.Since that point, she has completed 4 of the World Marathon Majors along with 6 other marathons, countless half marathons and 10km races as well as being a great fan of park run tourism.
The unexpected twist, was her passion for getting other people out running. She began coaching a ladies running group after qualifying and has now helped over 100 women begin their running journey with her couch to 5k courses. As well as this, she is now head coach for the University of Gloucestershire Athletics BUCS team, coordinating training for all athletes including medal winners and social members. She has won awards for her coaching, winning SASP Club of the Year 2017, SASP “Get Somerset Active” award 2018 and the University of Gloucestershire Coaching Scholar Award 2020. As of 2019, she is also a Coach Education Tutor for England Athletics, training the next generation of athletics coaches.
Outside of running, Rhianne is also a graduate sports therapist undertaking an MSc in Biomechanics Motion Analysis who enjoys working with Rugby players across Gloucestershire, which gives her the opportunity to combine her love of running mechanics with injury prevention and rehabilitation.
